12 Days Tanzania safari and Zanzibar

Tour Overview

This 12 days safari you will take you around Tanzania mainlands & Zanzibar islands where after spending your wildness safaris then followed by chill at the paradise of Zanzibar apart from chilling during your safari your expecting to visit Maasai boma as part of your activities and get a short time to hiking to oldonyo lengai.

Tour Timeline

Day 01: Arrival
After arriving at the airport you will be meet our representative and will be transferred to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 02: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
After breakfast to your hotel the tour will depart to Tarangire National Park. Tarangire National Park is famous for its tree-climbing pythons, massive baobabs and large herds of elephants. Tarangire National Park is small but still home to a significant wildlife population with a density of wildlife matched only by Ngorongoro. You’ll enjoy a picnic lunch during your safari drive and have plenty of time to explore the national park, stop to observe the wildlife and take photos. Dinner and overnight at Allocated accommodation as requested.
Day 03: Tarangire to Serengeti National Park.
After breakfast, depart for Serengeti National Park, via the beautiful high lying farmland of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Leaving the highlands behind, you descend into the heart of wild Africa – the Serengeti National Park – with its endless plains, rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see. Then heard to the central park area, known as the Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park, featuring the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti’s species. Arrive in time for lunch and enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Serengeti national park. Dinner and overnight at Allocated accommodation as requested.
Day 04: Full Day Serengeti Game Drive
Today is a full day of discovery, a chance to enjoy the varied landscapes of the Central Serengeti. The Seronera River weaves its way through this area, providing waters for all species of wildlife. You will also see the distinctive rocky outcrops, the famous kopjes which characterize the Serengeti landscape. Lunch will be an unforgettable experience, enjoyed in the middle of the bush. Everything is varies with the seasons, but in May, November and December migrating herds join the already rich population of resident animals which live here year-round. (In the rainy season, the landscape turns black with hundreds of thousands of wildebeest – a simply incredible sight.) Dinner and overnight at the camp
Day 05: Serengeti to ngorongoro
After breakfast with packed lunch boxes drive to Ngorongoro crater for a game drive. From the rim, get the incredible view then descend into the vast crater itself. At one side there’s the Lerai Forest, classic mountain forest landscape with almost tropical characteristics. This is good elephant country, so keep your eyes peeled. By the side of the nearby swamp land is what sometimes called the ‘elephant graveyard’ as the mighty male tuskers at the end of their lives come to chew on the soft, swampland grasses once their teeth have failed them.
The crater has a population of around 120 lions, with well-defined territories; 15,000 wildebeest, 9,000 zebra, 400 hyenas, and around 50 black rhino. Many wildebeest and other herd animals are resident, benefiting from the many sources of year-round waters and are boosted by some migrators in season. Buffalo, Thomson’s gazelle and eland are also present in numbers. Hippos can be found in pools and get a time to visit maasai villages.
Day 06: Lake Manyara national park:
After breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara National park. This park is placed at the most dramatic location with a lot of underground water streams that make it green throughout the year. Overlapping habitats & permanent water supply attract many animals including herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, giraffe hippos & many antelopes. Primates like the baboon, velvet monkeys, blue monkeys and others inhabit this park. Lake Manyara tree-climbing lion & larger flocks of flamingos are the highlights of this park.
After lunch in one of the picnic sites inside the park, continue with evening game drive and later evening back to the lodge for overnight
Day 07:Lake Natron:
The day starts at 8 am, where you will be picked up at your lodge and drive Lake Natron. The drive starts, driving to engare sero via engaruka with olonyo lengai view on this route, and drive to engare sero a small Masai village on route to Lake Natron. Your first day activity starts on this day. A trip to the waterfalls or a walk in the lake with much to see flocks of flamingos, after a short walking back to the camp for the sunset at the camp.
Day 08: Walking safari(Maasai boma)
You will be expected to explore Engarasero, exploring the villages, waterfalls and walk in Lake Natron for maasai activities you will be experience their life style like traditional dancing, local food and jumping with maasai men ( Moran) their after get a short walk to oldonyo lengai mountain with armed ranger, later evening after hiking back to the camp
Day 09: Lake Natron to Zanzibar:
After morning breakfast before depart to arusha you will have a short to the lake for sunrise with flamingos then start driver to arusha airport for further departure to Zanzibar
Day 10: Stone town and prison islands
Morning breakfast and check out, ready for the Guided Walking Tour through Stone Town, visiting the historical sites within the through the narrow alley on old stone city. It includes a visit to former slave market site, now stands as Anglican Church built in 1871, town market, House of Wonder built in 1883 (Beit – Al-Ajab, old Arab Fort, Palace Museum, Old Indian Dispensary (cultural center). Lunch in local restaurant and then transfer then we will end your day by exploring Prison Island. Prison Island is 20 minutes away from stone town by boat and has spectacular coral reef to enjoy while snorkeling, giant tortoises shuffle through the trees with the patience that old age brings you.
Day 11:Jozani forest:
Today you will start in the morning after a late breakfast then depart to Jozani Forest Reserve on the way at place called bungi you will take a short visit to Bikhole ruins and listen to the romantic stories later proceed to Jozani forest Reserve where you will be able to see Zanzibar red colubus monkey, bush babies and many other species of flora and fauna, Walking through the mangroves board walk, on the midday drive back to stone town for lunch at sundowner restaurant which is located just on the edge of stone town after lunch you will be taken back to hotel and the rest of the time will be spent on your leisure and pleasure
Day 12: Spice tour:
Depart from the hotel and drive through the countryside of Zanzibar, to the plantations, where you can sample the various spices i.e. ginger, Cardamom, Lemon Grass, and cinnamon, etc that are grown and which are the No 1 export products of Zanzibar. And of course, the reason Zanzibar is originally famous and known as The Spice Island. You also sample the fruits that are in abundance at the farms, some very exotic and very tasty. After that, we invite you for lunch at the spice tour restaurant where you will have lunch and taste the spices as they are used in food preparation. After tours you will be transferred to the airport – the Abeid Amani Karume Airport – for the flight back to home.
